Assertiveness Training

“I have a really hard time saying ‘No’ to people without feeling guilty.”
“Nobody ever seems to listen to what I say.”
“I always end up doing what other people want to do.”

Many of my clients begin counseling because they are tired of not having their concerns or points of view taken seriously. When people are kind, generous and caring to their family and friends, it is very common to begin putting other people’s needs and wants ahead of their own needs. They recognize that they are letting others take advantage of their kindness and generosity, but don’t know how to say “no” when asked for a favor or money.

Assertiveness training helps people to define healthy boundaries with others and communicate their feelings and needs clearly. If you live in the north Orlando area and would like to become more assertive, please call Dana Nolan, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, at 407-340-2474 to make an appointment today.

Finding the right counselor is important, therapeutic relationships are built on trust, honesty and mutual respect between the therapist and the client. It is important to find a counselor with whom you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings AND who has the necessary expertise to help you reach your goals. For that reason, we offer a free brief phone consultation to ensure that we are the right fit for you. If you would like to discuss assertiveness training or some other issue(s), please don’t hesitate to contact Dana Nolan at 407-340-2474.
